As much as we can plan for the upcoming year, every year, we’re hit with personal, world and cultural surprises. The good, bad and ugly are a natural part of life, here are a few things that standout to us that happened in 2021..

The world’s grandma - the legend Cecily Tyson passed away, Derek Jaxn got caught out here cheating and holding his wife’s hand tighter than a winning lottery ticket, GUAP officially signed Kurt Geiger as their official creative agency, British TV saw its first Black reality show – Highlife, Red Table Talk was really talking, The O2 became the MO2, Racism was rife at the Euro’s, Marcus Rashford stayed doing the work, Grace Victory woke up from a coma, Michaela Cole won an Emmy, DMX passed away, we were publicly introduced to the beautiful men of DSS, June 21st got moved to July 19th, Black Pound Day had a Pop Up in Westfield White City, Samuel – the founder of Uncle John’s Bakery passed away, The MOBO’s returned live, Content creators truly become the new celebrity, we celebrated our 6th birthday Pop Up in London Bridge - the list could go on.

As we prepare to wind down, reflect and plan for the new year, to close out 2021, we’re giving full selfcare vibes if you will, and thanking you all for the support this year – what a whirlwind it has been.
